Jacques Marie Mage Authorized Retailers and Second-Hand: How to Check a Seller
Use the brand's own retailer list to check a Jacques Marie Mage seller, read what its warranty says on third-party sales and spot second-hand red flags.

Quick answer
To check a Jacques Marie Mage seller, press search with the box empty in the brand's Store Locator and find its name and city. Being on the list covers the seller, not a single pair. On 2 November 2026 the list had about 700 entries, and the warranty excluded purchases through unauthorized retailers or third-party sellers and required the original receipt. So a second-hand buyer without the receipt should not expect cover.
This guide is for buyers choosing where to buy, and for second-hand buyers deciding whether to trust a seller. It explains the brand's own sales channels, how to use its retailer list, what the warranty says, and what to ask before you pay. For the marks on the frame itself, read the real vs fake guide.
Where does Jacques Marie Mage sell its frames?
The lowest-risk places to buy new are the brand's own online store, its galleries, and what it calls its retail partners and authorized retailers. The warranty excludes purchases through unauthorized retailers or third-party sellers, so these are the only channels where it can apply. It still needs the original receipt, and it covers only defects in material or manufacture within the warranty period.
Online store. The brand's Delivery and returns page says orders ship from its Los Angeles warehouse, Monday to Friday, and need an adult signature on delivery.
Galleries. On 2 November 2026 the brand's homepage and Store Locator between them listed galleries in New York, Austin, Tokyo, Paris, London, Milan, Costa Mesa, Los Angeles, Venice and Pacific Palisades. The Store Locator also listed a Harrods mini-gallery dated May to September 2026. Check the brand's site for what is open now.
Optical frames. In spring 2024 the brand said optical styles were handled through an advisor, a gallery or an optical partner. On 2 November 2026 its homepage said they are available online too.
Réserve. This is the brand's members-only collector community. Hand-selected members get a private shoppable archive of rare editions from the last decade. The page does not say how archive pieces are sourced or checked.
How do you use the brand's retailer list?
The brand's Store Locator lists its galleries and retailers, and anyone can open it.
Reach differs by market. The list is largest in the US and France. Korea, Japan and Italy each had a few dozen entries on 2 November 2026. Whether each entry still trades was not checked, and the empty-search method can stop working if the site changes.
- Open the Store Locator on the brand's website.
- Press search with the box empty. On 2 November 2026 this showed about 700 entries, including some duplicates.
- Look for the seller's name in those results, for example with your browser's find-in-page tool, and check that the city matches. The list has typos and duplicates, so also try other spellings and part of the name.
- Contact the shop through details you find yourself, such as its own website, not through a link inside a listing or a message.
Which retailers are on the Jacques Marie Mage list?
The table gives a sample of names on the brand's Store Locator, as read on 2 November 2026. It is not the whole list, and it is not a Vereev recommendation.
No entry for mainland China, Macau, Russia, Egypt or Malaysia was found in the list as displayed. That says nothing about any seller there. It only means you cannot check those sellers against the brand's list.
| Market | Names on the brand's Store Locator (sample) |
|---|---|
| US | Black Optical, Eye Bar, Designer Eyes, Framed Ewe, Good See Co, Optical Outlook, Maxfield, Oculus Eyecare, Dover Street Market, Union |
| Online | Mr Porter, Net-a-Porter, Mytheresa |
| Japan | Pon Megane, Eyevan Luxe, Iwaki Optical, G.B. Gafas, Dover Street Market Ginza |
| Korea | Papyrus, Collect Shinsegae, Galleria Look, Blink Eyewear |
| Taiwan | Bright Eyes, Four Seasons |
| Hong Kong | The New Black Optical, Puyi, Point de Vue, Glasstique |
| Southeast Asia | Jamco (Singapore), Waltz (Thailand), Templ Store (Indonesia), The Purists Club (Vietnam), Ronnie & Joe and Homme & Femme (Philippines) |
| UK | Harrods, Mallon and Taub, Taylor West & Co, Adam Simmonds, Edney & Edney |
| France | Marc Le Bihan, Edgard Opticiens, Anne et Valentin, Dover Street Market Paris |
| Italy | Ottica Rucco, Ottica Foppa, Bottega di Sguardi |
| Germany | Leidmann, Specs Berlin, Eye Catcher |
| Other Europe | Optica Toscana (Spain), Andre Opticas (Portugal), Schmidt Optiek (Netherlands), Moko 61 Optyk and Diuk Optyk (Poland), Sunglass Curator (Romania), Beseen Optics (Greece) |
| Gulf | Magrabi (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar), Eye Boutique (Dubai, Kuwait) |
What does the list prove, and what does it not?
A name on the list covers the seller, not the pair in front of you. It tells you the brand names that shop as a retailer. It says nothing about a pair bought elsewhere and resold.
A name missing from the list does not make a seller fake or dishonest. The list is a snapshot with typos, and marketplaces such as eBay, BUYMA, KREAM and 1stDibs were not on it as read on 2 November 2026.
A seller that calls itself authorized is making a claim. Check the claim against the list.
No seller check can prove a pair is genuine. It only tells you who you are dealing with.
What the warranty means if you buy second-hand
If you buy second-hand without the original receipt, do not expect warranty cover. The brand's Warranty & Repairs page, read on 2 November 2026, does not separately address second-hand sales. But it excludes purchases through unauthorized retailers or third-party sellers, and it requires the original receipt for every repair or replacement.
With the receipt, cover is still unclear, because the page excludes purchases through third-party sellers. Ask the brand before you rely on it. Read the official page before you act. This summary is not legal advice, so ask a consumer adviser about your own rights.
- It covers a frame or collectible that is defective in material or manufacture. The brand repairs or replaces it at no cost within one year of delivery.
- For EU residents it runs two years from delivery.
- The page says the warranty adds to, and does not limit, the rights consumer protection law gives you in the country of purchase or of residence.
- It does not cover purchases through unauthorized retailers or third-party sellers.
- The original receipt is required for all replacement or repair requests.
- It excludes lenses scratched by normal wear, and damage from mishandling, accidents, or unauthorized repair or alteration.
Who repairs a Jacques Marie Mage frame?
If you bought direct from the brand, start a repair by emailing shop@jacquesmariemage.com. If you bought from a retail or optical partner, go back to that partner.
The brand keeps a finite supply of parts for each frame and cannot guarantee exact matches. It may accept out-of-warranty repairs for a fee, subject to parts.
The page does not say that a repair request confirms a pair is genuine. Do not treat a repair as proof.
Red flags in a second-hand Jacques Marie Mage listing
Each flag is a reason to look closer, not proof. Three of them come from a single buyer's report on the Iron Heart forum, which is unverified. That buyer says frames bought from an online seller were fake.
For scale, the brand's US store listed the Dealan 53, Molino 55 and Zephirin RX at 985 USD each, and Yellowstone VII: Moran at 1,385 USD, on 2 November 2026. Early prices were lower: Esquire UK says JMM first cost about £400, and Vogue reported the Co x JMM collaboration at $675 in 2016. Rare pairs can sell for more: Resell Calendar reported in April 2023 that the JMM x KLR Ripley had resold for over $3,000. So price alone tells you little.
The table covers signs in the listing itself. The list after it covers claims a seller may make that do not hold up.
| Flag | What it is worth | What to ask |
|---|---|---|
| No box or card | Weak. The forum report of fakes had neither, but older sets differ from today's | Ask for photos of the box, case and card |
| Ships from a country other than the seller's | Worth checking. The same report describes a seller presenting as Japanese, shipping from China | Ask for the ship-from address before paying |
| Price well under retail | Weak alone. The same report gives about $200 under retail | Ask where and when the pair was bought |
| No close-ups | Worth checking. A member on the Iron Heart forum says the fakes have become extremely good and every detail needs close inspection | Ask for both inner temples, the hinges and the case |
| No return terms | Worth checking, because you lose your main protection | Ask for the return terms in writing |
- Do not rely on a brand serial lookup. None was found on the brand pages read.
- Do not accept a CE mark as proof. The EU's Your Europe guidance (last checked 17 July 2026) says the manufacturer affixes it and no central EU body issues it.
- Do not expect every frame to be made in Japan. The brand says it makes eyewear in Japan and Italy.
- Do not trust a claimed limit of 500 per design. No brand source read for this guide states one, and batch figures belong to each colour.
- Do not pay more just because a seller says a colour or shape will never return. Esquire UK says a shape may return in a new colour, and British GQ reported on 28 August 2024 that two Dealan colours had restocked.
What should you ask a seller before you pay?
Ask before you pay, and keep the answers in writing.
Terms can differ from seller to seller. Black Optical, for example, said on one undated product page that JMM purchases are exchange only. Check each seller's current terms. Once you have the photos, the real vs fake guide explains what to look at.
- Where and when was the pair bought? Can you show the original receipt, with personal details covered?
- Can you send photos of both inner temples with the rim clear, plus the crest, hinges, rivets, front pins, box, case and card?
- Has any part or lens been replaced? The warranty excludes unauthorized repair or alteration.
- Where does the parcel ship from?
- What are your return terms?
What if you already bought a pair and doubt it?
Use the seller's or the marketplace's return and buyer protection before the deadline. Keep the listing, the messages, the payment record and the parcel label.
Ask who pays for return shipping. One buyer on the Iron Heart forum reports a full refund, with return shipping paid by the buyer.
Report the listing to the marketplace. If the seller will not help, a local consumer body can explain your options. This guide does not give legal advice.

Common questions
What readers ask about this topic
How do I check if a seller is a Jacques Marie Mage authorized retailer?
Open the brand's Store Locator and press search with the box empty to show the full list. Then look for the seller's name in the results, for example with your browser's find-in-page tool, and check the city. Try other spellings, because the list has typos.
Is a seller that is not on the JMM list selling fakes?
Not necessarily. The list is a snapshot with typos and duplicates, and resale marketplaces such as eBay and 1stDibs were not on it as read on 2 November 2026. A missing name means you cannot check the seller against the brand's list, nothing more.
Does the Jacques Marie Mage warranty cover second-hand frames?
The page does not separately address second-hand sales. It excludes purchases through unauthorized retailers or third-party sellers and requires the original receipt for every repair or replacement. So a second-hand buyer without the receipt should not expect cover, and with it should ask the brand before relying on it.
Do I need the original receipt for a JMM repair?
Yes. The brand's Warranty & Repairs page says the original receipt is required for all replacement or repair requests. It may also accept out-of-warranty repairs for a fee, subject to parts, so ask the brand or your retailer before you send a pair.
Can I buy Jacques Marie Mage safely on a resale marketplace?
You can lower the risk. Ask for close-ups and the receipt, check where the parcel ships from, and buy only with return terms and buyer protection. No seller check proves a pair is genuine, so get a second opinion if you are in doubt.
Can I buy JMM optical frames online?
On 2 November 2026 the brand's homepage said optical styles are available online. In spring 2024 it said they went through an advisor, a gallery or an optical partner.
Are there Jacques Marie Mage retailers in China?
No entry for mainland China or Macau was found in the brand's Store Locator on 2 November 2026. The list does show retailers in Hong Kong, such as The New Black Optical and Puyi, and in Taiwan.
How much does a new Jacques Marie Mage frame cost?
On 2 November 2026 the brand's US store listed the Dealan 53, Molino 55 and Zephirin RX at 985 USD each, and Yellowstone VII: Moran at 1,385 USD. Prices change, so check the brand's store for today's price.
What is Jacques Marie Mage Reserve?
Réserve is the brand's members-only collector community. Hand-selected members get a private shoppable archive of rare editions from the last decade. The page does not say how archive pieces are sourced or checked.
