Jacques Marie Mage Serial Number: What the Temple Code and Card Show

Find the code inside a recent Jacques Marie Mage temple, what JMMZP11A and 00/500 appear to show, how cards changed by season, and if you can check it online.

Quick answer

Look inside both temples. In the brand's photos of recent Jacques Marie Mage acetate frames, one temple shows a code and number, such as JMMZP11A and 00/500, and the other the model name, size and origin. In five codes read, the part after the model letters matches the store's colour code. On two colours, the figure after the slash matches the batch size. No brand key or public lookup was found.

This guide explains what the numbers and marks on a Jacques Marie Mage (JMM) frame and its card appear to show, and what came in the box in the seasons the brand describes. The readings of codes, numbers and boxes come from the brand's own product photos, store pages and Jacques Revue issues. Press, retailer and forum reports are named where they are used. The brand has not published a key, so treat every reading below as an observed pattern, not an official one.

Where is the serial number on Jacques Marie Mage glasses?

Look inside both temples. In the brand's own photos of the Molino 55, Dealan 53 and Zephirin RX, one inner temple carries a code and a number. The other carries the model name, the size and the origin. A fall 2023 Jacques Revue photo of the Hemmings shows a code starting JMMHE, the name and the origin in the same places. This is the layout in the brand's own photos, not an official key. The brand told Esquire UK that it serialises its frames.

The rim can hide part of the text. In the brand's photo of the Molino 55 in Tenace, the code reads JMMMLX H11, and the rim hides the rest. On the Dealan 53 in Honeycomb, it reads JMMDEX H13, then a figure starting with 0 that the rim cuts off. Open the temple fully, or turn the frame, to read every character.

Brand texts, sellers and buyers use several names for the numbers on the frame and the card: serial number, lot number, limited-edition number, batch number, manufacturing number or registration number. The brand does not say how these terms relate, so this guide calls the letters a code and the figures a number.

Illustration of two plain temple arms seen from inside. One carries the printed code JMMZP11A and 00/500. The other carries Mle ZEPHIRIN, 44, a small square and 25, and HANDCRAFTED IN JAPAN, with numbered markers on each part.
Vereev illustration of the temple text in the brand's own photo of one sample, a Zephirin RX in Noir 11. This is not an official key, and it is not to scale: the lower temple's text is split over two rows here to fit. 1: JMM. 2: letters that appear to mark the model. 3: characters that match the store's colour code. 4: a number the brand does not explain, so read nothing into 00. 5: the batch figure the store shows for that colour. 6: model name. Mle is likely the usual French short form of modèle, and the brand does not explain it. 7: eye and bridge size. The store lists this model's bridge as 22 mm, so do not treat a small gap as a sign of a fake. 8: origin on this frame. Some frames are made in Italy. Older, titanium and collaboration frames can differ.

What does the code inside the temple mean?

The brand does not explain its codes. In its photos, each code starts with JMM, then letters that appear to mark the model. Where the full code can be read, it ends with characters that match the colour code in the brand's store.

Some codes have an X after the model letters, and the spacing differs between codes. What the X means is not known. No published key was found for other codes people search for, such as JMMDEV-8X, so do not try to decode them.

No public standard or brand key for decoding a JMM code was found. In the EU only, Article 8(5) of Regulation (EU) 2016/425 requires makers of protective equipment to put a type, batch or serial number, or another identifying element, on the product. If the product's size or nature prevents it, the number can go on the packaging or a document. The European Commission's guidelines (5th edition, October 2025) count non-corrective sunglasses as such equipment and treat prescription glasses separately. They leave the format of that number to the manufacturer.

What does a number like 00/500 mean?

In the brand's photos, the Zephirin RX in Noir 11 reads 00/500, and the Zephirin RX in Caliza reads 00/250. The figure after the slash matches the batch figure the brand's store shows for that colour: 500 and 250. Both colours were listed as pre-order in the brand's US store on 2 November 2026.

The brand does not explain the 00. Read nothing into it. It does not show that a frame is fake, and it does not show that a frame is genuine. Of the brand photos read, only one shows digits other than 00 in that place: the Molino 55 in Breathe, with digits starting 34. The rim hides the rest.

How many pairs of each Jacques Marie Mage frame are made?

A batch figure belongs to one colour of one product, not to a model. On 2 November 2026 the brand's US store showed the Dealan 53 at 450 in Honeycomb and 100 in Pirate, the Molino 55 in Tenace at 450, the Zephirin RX in Venom at 200 and Yellowstone VII: Moran in Mammoth at 300.

On the same date, colours on show on the Zephirin page ran from 50 (Magnolia) to 500 (Noir 11). Jacques Revue prints figures in the same range, such as 50 for the Whitesnake in Orange Crush and 350 for the Dealan in Brown Bear.

No brand source read for this guide states a 500-pair cap. Wikipedia states one, but the British GQ article it cites, from 4 November 2024, does not. British GQ also reported a Dealan batch of 600 in Shadow on 28 August 2024. Maxfield, a retailer, says JMM sometimes runs as few as 5 units. That is below any eyewear batch the brand prints in the sources read.

Stock status settles nothing either. The brand says one small batch often sells out before the next arrives.

What do Mle, 55 □ 19 and Handcrafted in Japan mean?

Mle. This is likely the usual French short form of modèle, which means model. The brand does not explain it. Its photos show both MOLINO 55 (Tenace) and Mle MOLINO 55 (Breathe), so the word is not a test.

Size. 55 □ 19 and 53 □ 22 match the listed eye size and bridge, or distance between the lenses (DBL), of the Molino 55 and Dealan 53. The Zephirin RX reads 44 □ 25 against a listed DBL of 22 mm, so do not treat a small gap as a sign of a fake. BSI says ISO 8624:2020, the standard for measuring frames, uses rectangular boxes drawn around the lens shapes. The brand does not explain the square sign.

Origin. HANDCRAFTED IN JAPAN shows on all four models read. The Vision Council says US customs law requires goods made outside the US to be marked with their country of production. The brand also names Italian-made frames, and none of their temples was seen, so do not expect the Japan line on every pair.

Other marks. A small raised figure near a temple tip on the Molino 55 in Tenace is not explained on the pages read. CE also shows near a temple tip in some of the brand's photos, but it cannot prove a pair is genuine. The EU's Your Europe guidance (last checked 17 July 2026) says no central EU body issues the CE mark, and the manufacturer affixes it.

Which frames do not show this temple code?

The layout above was read only on recent acetate frames. Frames from 2015 to 2022, Italian-made frames and most collaborations were not covered, so a missing code on those proves nothing. Other frames and pieces carry other marks, as the brand and some sellers describe them.

  • Yellowstone VII: Moran shows no temple text in the brand's photos checked. It has ys engraved on one lens and a stacked JMM on the other.
  • Titanium frames: the brand says its newer titanium nose pads carry the crest, engraved at the top of the pad.
  • Collaborations, according to the brand: a Johnny Cash signature foil-embossed inside the temple, a metal SoleLuna crest at the temple tip of Valentino Rossi frames, and a metal crest of Marseille on The Sud.
  • JMM x KLR Ripley: Resell Calendar says the original custom pair had K.L.R. inscribed inside the frame.
  • Clyde: Relik Editions, a reseller, says a used pair has a limited-edition serial number engraved on the temple.
  • Last Frontier V jewellery: the brand says it carries engraved hallmarks for purity, location and a unique serial number.

Can you check a Jacques Marie Mage serial number online?

No public lookup was found. On 2 November 2026, no serial lookup, online certificate check or brand authentication service appeared on the brand pages read or in its sitemap. This means none was found, not that none exists.

The serial number on a US trademark (USPTO) record belongs to a trademark filing, not to a frame.

The brand's Warranty & Repairs page gives one email address, shop@jacquesmariemage.com, for questions and for starting a repair on a frame bought direct. It does not say the brand will confirm authenticity or explain a number, and no published explanation of the numbers was found.

What do the Jacques Marie Mage certificate card and box look like?

It depends on the season and the collection. The brand's own descriptions changed over time, as the table shows. The brand's website also sets the packaging text separately for each colour, so two listings can describe different sets. The move from embossed to hand-written numbers is a change over time, not a test.

Sellers add their own versions. A BUYMA personal-shopper listing in Japan says the genuine case comes in several types. Designer Eyes says all JMM purchases include a certificate of authenticity, which goes further than the brand's own wording. A set that differs from today's listing is not by itself a sign of a fake, and paperwork can be copied.

Does the number on the card have to match the frame?

The brand does not say. Relik Editions, a reseller, says the certificate of a used Clyde matches the frame model, the manufacturing number and the craftsman's signature. Ottica Occhiblu, an eyewear retailer, wrote on 4 December 2021 that each pair has a certificate with a unique registration number. A buyer on the Iron Heart forum assumed paperwork, box and lot number are a must, but that was a question, not a rule.

So compare the two numbers, and ask the seller about any mismatch. A mismatch does not prove a fake, because the brand has not said the numbers must match. Treat a match as weak evidence too, because paperwork can be copied.

For any repair or replacement, the brand requires the original receipt. Its warranty page does not mention the card. The authorized retailers guide covers the receipt.

Do Jacques Marie Mage frames have a QR code?

Only one source read mentions one. Dan Deutsch Optical Outlook, a retailer on the brand's Store Locator list read on 2 November 2026, says the Duke 2 comes with a certificate with a limited-edition serial number and a QR code to claim digital ownership. The listing is undated, and it covers one collaboration model.

How that claim works, and which releases have it, is not known. A missing QR code says nothing about a pair. A working one says nothing about the frame in your hand either. The QR link on a Vereev E-Result is separate. It covers only Vereev results, and anyone can check it at www.vereev-ai.com/verify.

What these numbers cannot prove, and what to do next

A code, a number, a card or a box can be copied, and no public lookup was found to test them. They can support a pair's history, but they cannot prove it is genuine.

If you doubt a pair, use the seller's or the marketplace's return and buyer protection before it ends, and keep the listing and the messages. Photograph both inner temples with the rim clear, plus the card and the box, and get a second opinion. Vereev gives an independent expert opinion from photos, and the Jacques Marie Mage authentication page explains how to order. Vereev is not the brand and issues no brand certificates.

Common questions

What readers ask about this topic

Do all Jacques Marie Mage frames have a serial number on the temple?

Not as far as the sources show. Recent Molino 55, Dealan 53 and Zephirin RX frames show a code and a number in the brand's photos. Yellowstone VII: Moran shows no temple text in the brand's photos checked, and older and collaboration frames were not covered.

What does H11 or 11A mean on a JMM temple?

In the brand's photos, these characters match the colour code in its store: H11 is Tenace on the Molino 55, and 11A is Noir 11 on the Zephirin RX. The brand publishes no key, so treat this as an observed pattern.

Is 00 on a Jacques Marie Mage temple a sign of a fake?

Not by itself. The brand's own photos of the Zephirin RX show 00/500 and 00/250, and the brand does not explain the 00. Read nothing into it, either way.

Is there a 500-pair limit on Jacques Marie Mage frames?

No brand source read for this guide states one. Batch figures belong to each colour. On 2 November 2026 they ran from 50 to 500 on colours on show in the brand's US store, and British GQ reported a Dealan batch of 600 in 2024.

Does a Jacques Marie Mage certificate of authenticity prove a pair is real?

No. Cards changed by season, and paperwork can be copied. A card that fits its season supports the story of a pair, but it does not prove the frame is genuine.

Why does my JMM card look different from the one in a listing?

The brand changed its boxes and cards by season and collection, and its site sets the packaging text per colour. A different set is not by itself a sign of a fake.

Is the serial on a JMM card embossed or hand-written?

The brand has described both. Brand texts from 2022 to 2024 describe embossed numbers, and listings read on 2 November 2026 say hand-written. The change is about time, and it is not a test of a pair.

Is a USPTO trademark serial number the same as a JMM frame serial number?

No. The serial number on a US trademark (USPTO) record belongs to a trademark filing, not to a frame. No public frame serial lookup was found.
