How to approach Jacques Marie Mage authentication
Know the exact model and colour
On the brand's listings, the batch figure and the pin wording change from one colour to the next, and the hinge changes by model. Find the listing for your model and colour first.
Look at the hinges, rivets and front pins
The brand lists a 7-barrel hinge on the Molino 55 and Dealan 53 and a 5-barrel hinge on the Zephirin RX in Venom. Its photos show three rivet heads on some models and two on others.
Read the temple text and the crest
On the Molino 55, Dealan 53 and Zephirin RX, the brand's photos show a code on one inner temple and the model name, size and origin on the other, plus a domed metal crest. Older, titanium and collaboration frames may differ. The brand says its newer titanium nose pads carry the crest.
Photograph with the rim clear
Take sharp close-ups of both inner temples, opened so the rim does not hide the text. Add the box, the card and the receipt, with personal details covered.

What to review on Jacques Marie Mage items
Who can authenticate Jacques Marie Mage glasses?
No authenticity check from the brand was found. On 2 November 2026, the brand pages read and the brand's sitemap showed no public serial lookup, online certificate check or authentication service. That does not prove none exists. The table below shows who can tell you what.
The brand's Warranty & Repairs page covers defects and repairs. It does not say the brand will confirm whether a pair is genuine. Réserve, the brand's members-only collector community, does not say how the rare editions in its archive are sourced or checked.
Oculus Eyecare, a retailer on the brand's own list, advised on 9 December 2024 to buy from a seller that can guarantee authenticity. That helps before you buy, not after. On the Iron Heart forum, one member points collectors to a Facebook group and two StyleForum threads. Answers there come from other buyers, and no stated checking method was found.
| Route | What it can tell you | What it cannot |
|---|---|---|
| Jacques Marie Mage | Repair or replacement of defects in material or manufacture, within one year of delivery (two years for EU residents). Only for frames bought from the brand or an authorized retailer, with the original receipt. It does not limit consumer law rights. | An authenticity check. None was found on its pages, and the warranty page does not offer one. |
| The seller | Where and when the pair was bought, with the original receipt if it still exists. | Independent proof. A seller's word is a claim, even from a shop on the brand's list. |
| Forums and collector groups | Views from other owners and collectors. | A stated method. Answers come from other buyers. |
| Optician | Lens questions, such as UV protection. | Who made the frame. |
| Vereev photo review | An independent expert opinion on the pair, from your photos. | Brand verification. A result is not a Jacques Marie Mage certificate. |
How does a Jacques Marie Mage legit check work on Vereev?
You photograph the pair in the Vereev app, which guides you through each photo. If you already have an account and tokens, you can also order on the website at www.vereev-ai.com/authenticate.
Search for Jacques Marie Mage in the app. If your version of the app does not list it yet, type the full name, Jacques Marie Mage, and continue. Requests use tokens, and the app shows the cost before you confirm.
AI assists and human experts decide. A reviewer may ask you for more photos. The result is Authentic, Replica, or a statement that the photos cannot settle it. If the photos cannot support a conclusion, the tokens are refunded.
Authentic and replica results get a digital E-Result with a certificate and a QR link. Anyone can check that link at www.vereev-ai.com/verify. Vereev is independent. It is not Jacques Marie Mage, and it does not issue brand certificates.
Which photos should you take of a Jacques Marie Mage pair?
The Vereev eyewear photo guide lists the angles to shoot. The table shows what to capture at each angle on a JMM pair. It is based on the marks in the brand's own product photos and in Jacques Revue, the brand's seasonal publication.
One tip matters most. In the brand's own close-ups of the Molino 55 and the Dealan 53, the rim of the frame hides part of the code inside the temple. Open the temple fully, or turn the frame, so every character shows.
| Angle in the eyewear guide | What to capture on a JMM pair |
|---|---|
| Front View | The front pins at the outer corners, and any lens mark, such as ys and a stacked JMM on Yellowstone VII: Moran. |
| Side View | The hinge, the rivet heads on the temple and the thickness of the frame. |
| Opposite Side | The other hinge and its rivets, so both sides can be compared. |
| Temple Interior | Both inner temples, with the rim moved clear of the text: code, number, model name, size, origin and crest. |
| Back View | The nose pads. The brand says its newer titanium nose pads carry its crest, engraved at the top. |
| Frame / Material Detail | Close-ups of the domed crest, the hinge barrels, the wirecore and the foil lettering. |
| Packaging | Box, case, cloth, card, and the original receipt with personal details covered. |
What can a photo review not check on these frames?
UV protection. The brand says all lenses on its limited-edition eyewear have 100% UV protection and conform to ISO 12312-1:2022. No independent test report was found, which does not mean the claim is wrong. A photo cannot test a lens. An optician can check it.
Metal. The brand names sterling silver, 18k gold and solid 10k gold for its pins and rivets, and the wording changes by issue and by colour. A jeweller or an assay office can test metal. A photo cannot.
Warranty. The brand's warranty requires the original receipt and does not cover purchases from unauthorized retailers or third-party sellers. Frames bought from a retail or optical partner go back to that partner for repair. A Vereev result does not change any of this.
Copies. Copies can carry the same marks as a genuine pair. A Vereev result is an expert opinion on the photos you send. No photo check, and no self-check, can prove a pair is genuine beyond any doubt.
Who makes Jacques Marie Mage, and where are the frames made?
Jérôme Jacques Marie Mage founded the brand in 2014, according to the brand, WWD and Esquire UK. WWD places it in Los Angeles. The first collection came in Spring 2015: four acetate styles handcrafted in Japan, called Dealan, Zephirin, Hatfield and Fontainebleau. That is why some pages say 2015.
The brand describes its goods as designed in Los Angeles and handcrafted in Japan and Italy. Its Decade Journal names ateliers in Japan, Italy and the United States, and offices in Hollywood, Paris and Sabae. So do not assume one country for every frame. Go by the country on your frame or its listing.
He Spoke Style, a menswear site, says the surname Mage sounds like Mah-je.
What should you do if you think your pair is fake?
Act before any return window closes. Use the seller's or the marketplace's return and buyer protection first. Keep the listing, the messages, the payment record and the parcel label.
No brand authentication service was found on the brand pages read, and its Warranty & Repairs page does not say it confirms authenticity. Get a second opinion from an independent reviewer, and take lens questions to an optician.
For checks you can do yourself, read the real vs fake guide. For seller steps, the retailer list and the warranty, read the authorized retailers guide.
Model-specific checks
Most-searched Jacques Marie Mage models
Compare each piece with references for the same version, size, and period. These are the details a reviewer photographs and compares first.
Dealan and Dealan 53
One of the four first styles of Spring 2015. The brand says it draws on the black spectacles Bob Dylan wore while touring Europe in the mid-1960s, and Esquire UK names it a best seller. On the Dealan 53 in Honeycomb, the brand lists a 7-barrel hinge and its photos show three rivet heads.
Check and photograph
- Open both temples so the rim hides neither the code nor DEALAN 53, then photograph them.
- Close up on each hinge so the barrels and the rivet heads are easy to count.
- Photograph the size and origin text printed over the exposed wirecore.
- Photograph the box, case, cloth and card that came with it, and the receipt.
Molino and Molino 55
The brand says it is named after the designer Carlo Mollino, and Esquire UK names it a best seller. In the brand's photo, the Molino 55 in Tenace temple reads MOLINO 55, 55 □ 19 and HANDCRAFTED IN JAPAN.
Check and photograph
- Photograph both inner temples, opened so the rim does not cover the end of the code.
- Close up on the arrow-shaped hinge plate, the hinge barrels and the rivet heads.
- Photograph the domed oval crest and the JACQUESMARIEMAGE wordmark inside the temple.
- Photograph the front pins and the wirecore, then compare them with the listing for your colour.
Zephirin and Zephirin RX
Another first-season name. The brand says it is named after Pope Zephyrinus, and Esquire UK names it a best seller. On 2 November 2026, many Zephirin RX colours on the brand's store came with a demo lens. Check the lens listed for your colour.
Check and photograph
- Open both temples fully so the rim does not cover the code or Mle ZEPHIRIN.
- Close up on each hinge, showing the barrels and the rivet heads on the temple.
- Photograph the front pins, then read the pin wording on the listing for your colour.
- Photograph the lenses, and check whether the listing for your colour says demo lens.
Yellowstone VII: Moran
The brand names it as made in Japan. Its slim titanium temples show no temple text in the brand's photos checked. Instead, ys is engraved on one lens and a stacked JMM on the other.
Check and photograph
- Photograph the ys engraving on the right lens and the stacked JMM on the other lens.
- Photograph the nose pads, where the brand says its titanium frames carry an engraved crest.
- Close up on the hinge barrels where the slim titanium temples meet the front.
- Photograph the brown box, the hardshell case with its medallion, the cloth and the card.
JMM x KLR Ripley
Resell Calendar (23 April 2023) ties this pair to Kendall Roy, the character in Succession. It says the release was limited to 100 pairs at $750 in March 2023 and later resold for over $3,000. The brand's own timeline lists a Jeremy Strong for JMM release in fall 2024. That appears to be a separate release, so do not confuse the two.
Check and photograph
- Photograph both inner temples with the rim clear, so every inscription and number shows in full.
- Photograph the hinges, rivet heads and front pins, since collaboration frames may differ from the main line.
- Photograph whatever box, case and card came with it, plus the original receipt.
Warning signs
When Jacques Marie Mage items need a closer look
Each sign is a reason to ask more questions or get an item-level review. None is a verdict on its own.
- The seller will not send close-ups of the hinges, the inner temples or the case.
- No box or card, a ship-from country that differs from the seller's claimed country, and a price about $200 under retail. These come from one unverified buyer's report on the Iron Heart forum.
- The model name inside the temple names a different model from the one the seller lists. A missing RX is not a mismatch: the brand's own Zephirin RX reads Mle ZEPHIRIN inside the temple. A small gap in the bridge figure is not a sign by itself either: the same temple reads 44 □ 25, while the listing gives a 22 mm bridge.
- The rivet count or the pin shape differs from the brand's own photos or listing for the same model and colour. Ask the seller why. The brand shows this for only a few models, so it calls for a closer look and is not proof.
- The seller points to a brand serial lookup. None was found on the brand pages read.
- The seller offers a CE mark as proof. The EU's Your Europe guidance (last checked 17 July 2026) says no central EU body gives permission or a certificate for the CE mark, and the manufacturer affixes it. A copy can carry the same letters, so the mark cannot show who made a frame.

Jacques Marie Mage authentication FAQ
Can Jacques Marie Mage authenticate my frames?
No such service was found. On 2 November 2026, the brand pages read and its sitemap showed no serial lookup, online certificate check or authentication service. Its Warranty & Repairs page does not say it confirms authenticity.
What photos do I need for a JMM legit check?
Follow the angles in the Vereev eyewear photo guide. On a JMM pair, add close-ups of both inner temples with the rim clear of the text, the crest, the hinges, rivets and front pins, and the box, card and receipt.
Can I order a Jacques Marie Mage check on the website?
Yes, if you already have a Vereev account and tokens. Go to www.vereev-ai.com/authenticate. Otherwise, start in the Vereev app, which guides you through each photo.
The app does not list Jacques Marie Mage. What do I do?
Some versions of the app do not list it yet. Enter Jacques Marie Mage in full as the brand and continue with the guided photos. The app shows the cost before you confirm.
Is a Vereev result the same as a brand certificate?

What happens if the photos cannot settle it?
The reviewer may first ask for more photos. If the photos still cannot support a conclusion, the result says so and the tokens are refunded.
Are Jacques Marie Mage frames made in Japan or Italy?
Both. The brand says its eyewear is handcrafted in Japan and Italy, and it names Italian-made frames such as the Jennie and the Whitesnake in Orange Crush. Recent Molino 55, Dealan 53 and Zephirin RX frames read HANDCRAFTED IN JAPAN inside the temple in the brand's photos.
Who founded Jacques Marie Mage, and when?
Jérôme Jacques Marie Mage founded it in 2014, according to the brand, WWD and Esquire UK. The first collection came out in Spring 2015, which is why some pages say 2015.
