Pop Mart code check
Labubu QR Code Check: How to Verify a Pop Mart Code and Read the Result
How to check a Labubu QR or scratch code on Pop Mart's own site, what First Time and already-checked results mean, and what a real code cannot prove.

Quick answer
Scratch the silver panel on the box sticker to reveal the code. In the US and Canada, Pop Mart's help page says to go to m-gss.popmart.com/us, choose QR Verify and enter the code. Elsewhere, Pop Mart says scanning the box code opens its check on m-gss.popmart.com, and mainland China uses its WeChat mini-program. A Genuine result means Pop Mart recognizes the code. It does not prove the doll is real.
Pop Mart runs its own code check, but on 2 November 2026 written steps were found only on its US, Canada and Japan sites. This guide covers the routes in other places too, and describes Pop Mart's result screens in words, from Pop Mart's own screenshots and the text of its check portal. Vereev is independent of Pop Mart, and only Pop Mart's own system can confirm one of its codes.
Where is the code on a Pop Mart box?
Pop Mart's US help page shows the back label of a box with one sticker. The sticker has a holographic edge and holds a QR code. Under the QR code is a silver panel, marked in Chinese with the words scratch to verify. Scratching the panel reveals digits. The box in Pop Mart's photo is a Baby Molly box, not a Labubu box.
Pop Mart's help page calls this the Box Label Code, and its US FAQ calls it the holographic label. They look like the same sticker, but Pop Mart does not say so. Pop Mart also does not document where the sticker sits on a Labubu box. SNKRDUNK, a marketplace with an authentication team, says the holographic sticker is on the back, at the top right of the package. A collector quoted by WTVD, ABC's station in Raleigh, in a report carried by 6abc, also says it is on the back.
There may be a second QR code. Pop Mart told ABC News that its 2024 releases have a QR code on the figure's tag. 6abc reported that Pop Mart's site said the wash label has one, but the official Pop Mart pages read on 2 November 2026 do not mention it. Feltify, a retailer, and a University of Richmond student law blog advise scanning both the box and the tag. If you scan a code, check that the page address is popmart.com or ends in .popmart.com before you type anything, because a code on a fake may lead to another site.

How to check a Pop Mart QR code, step by step
In the US and Canada, Pop Mart's help page, updated 18 December 2025, gives the steps below. Pop Mart's US FAQ, updated 16 October 2026, gives a second route: open m-gss.popmart.com/1117#/pages/country, click Anti-Counterfeiting Verification, and enter the number from the holographic label.
Written steps were found only on Pop Mart's US, Canada and Japan sites. The same help page address showed no such steps on 31 other country versions checked on 2 November 2026, including the UK, Australia, Germany, France, Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Mexico and Brazil. The table shows the route Pop Mart gives for each place.
On the check page, expect a slider puzzle and a limit on repeat checks. The entry screen asks for the code inside the coating. Do not expect one fixed code length. One Pop Mart screenshot shows the first 12 digits of a 16-digit code and asks only for the last four. That is probably the view after a scan, which Pop Mart does not explain. The portal also has a prompt for the last three digits.
| Where you are | Pop Mart's route | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Mainland China | The official WeChat mini-program, POP MART Service Center | Opened by scanning the box code. This flow was not checked for this guide |
| Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and other places outside mainland China (Pop Mart says overseas) | The Customer Service page on m-gss.popmart.com | Opened by scanning the box code |
| US and Canada | m-gss.popmart.com/us, then QR Verify | Written steps on Pop Mart's help page |
| Japan | Read the QR code on the product | Guidance at m-gss.popmart.com/jp#/antiFakeCode |
- Step 1: Scratch off the silver coating on the Box Label Code, the sticker on the box.
- Step 2: Type m-gss.popmart.com/us into your browser and choose QR Verify.
- Step 3: Enter the code and press Verify.
- Step 4: Read your result with the table in What each Pop Mart result means.
- Outside the US, Canada, Japan and mainland China: scan the QR code on the box. Pop Mart says this opens the Customer Service page on m-gss.popmart.com.
How to know you are on Pop Mart's real check site
On 2 November 2026, these Pop Mart hosts were confirmed: popmart.com, m-gss.popmart.com and q.popmart.com. Pop Mart's check page on m-gss.popmart.com loads q.popmart.com inside it, and before you enter, it warns you to pay attention to information security.
Type the address yourself rather than trusting a link. A QR code on a fake may lead somewhere else. A University of Richmond student law blog says some copied codes lead to suspicious or broken pages. CHOICE, the Australian consumer group, found one imitation code that only linked to Pop Mart's general website. Landing on Pop Mart's home page is not a check.
SNKRDUNK says a genuine QR code should lead to fwsy.popmart.com or m-gss.popmart.com. fwsy.popmart.com is a popmart.com address, but its main page returned an error (404) on 2 November 2026, so this guide could not see what it shows. Do not treat that address alone as a sign of a fake.
The portal and Pop Mart's screenshots carry a faint POPMART watermark with a date. Pop Mart does not present it as a security feature, so do not rely on it. This guide lists no fake check sites, because none was verified.
What each Pop Mart result means
Pop Mart's help page shows three results, and all three are for genuine codes. The text of its check portal adds wording for a rejected code. The words on your screen may differ from the ones below, because the portal also has wordings such as First query and Already queried a number of times.
| Result on screen | What it tells you | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| First check: Genuine, First Time Verification | Pop Mart's system recognizes the code, and no one had checked it before | Keep a screenshot, then check the doll itself |
| Repeat check: Genuine, verified for many times, with the first check date in Beijing time | The code is recognized, and someone checked it before you | Compare the first check date with the seller's story |
| Over the limit: a warning triangle and Attention, with a message that checks passed the limit and the first check time | The code was checked many times. Pop Mart's help page still calls this product genuine, but the portal warns you to watch for counterfeit goods | On a doll sold as new, treat it as a warning sign |
| Rejected: the code is incorrect, with a warning about counterfeits (portal script text, not an observed screen) | The system did not accept what was entered | Check your typing first, because a rejection can be a typing error |
- The portal script also has labels for Fake product and Verification failed. They are script text, not observed screens.
- Pop Mart's help page documents only genuine results, and no source shows how a cloned code appears.
Buying second-hand: what an already-checked code means
Pop Mart's US help page labels a repeat check as genuine. A Pop Mart staff member told Yicai, a Chinese business news site, that two or more checks on a product you have just received is good reason to suspect a fake. Both can be true. The code may be real. On a doll sold as new, a repeat result is a warning sign. On an opened resale, it may simply be the earlier owner's check.
The first verification time is the useful detail. Compare it with what the seller tells you about when the doll was bought and opened.
- Before you pay, ask whether the scratch panel is still intact.
- If it has been scratched, ask when the code was first checked.
- Run the check yourself after delivery. Do not accept a screenshot or a link from the seller instead.
- Do not use up repeat checks, because the portal limits them.
- Distrust a sales pitch built on the code. Xinhua Daily Telegraph says live-stream sellers pushed fakes as one-to-one copies that buyers could scan to verify.
- LegitApp, a paid authenticator, says genuine cartons, inner boxes and QR labels are sold on secondary markets. So a real label can reach a buyer without its real doll.
What a genuine code cannot prove
Pop Mart's own portal says "Query results are for reference only." Nothing on its help page, FAQ or portal describes teeth, feet, weight, materials, resale purchases or copied labels. So the check tells you about the code, not about the doll.
Fakes can pass this check in several ways. ABC News reports real boxes resealed around fakes. Shanghai police said in July 2025 that a ring leader bought anti-counterfeit stickers that were also fake, as Yicai reported. Sixth Tone, a news site based in China, says some close replicas pass QR checks, without giving a source.
Some fakes have QR codes and some do not. The UK's Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS), in report 2508-0112 of 1 October 2025 on one seized doll, and the UK's CTSI, in a warning of 13 August 2025, describe fakes without them. CHOICE found an imitation code on one of its five fakes, and Xinhua Daily Telegraph says live-stream sellers advertised fakes as scannable. So no QR code on a recent release is a warning sign, and a code that scans is not proof.
Older figures may lack features that Pop Mart, speaking to ABC News, dates to its 2024 releases. A genuine How2Work figure is a separate line, so do not assume Pop Mart's check covers it.
Does a Labubu have a serial number?
No Pop Mart source read by 2 November 2026 describes a serial number for each doll. Some pages claim a laser-etched plate, an RFID chip, an NFC tag or a blockchain record. Nothing from Pop Mart supports any of these.
What does exist is the code on the box sticker, and a batch field on Pop Mart's Baby Molly label example. A batch number is not proof either. EU Safety Gate alert SR/01138/26, notified by Estonia on 15 April 2026, describes a counterfeit that carried a barcode and a batch number.
So the box code is a check code, not a serial number, and Pop Mart does not publish its length.
Pop Mart code not working: what to try
Try these steps in order.
- Retype the code. The portal itself asks you to check that you typed it correctly.
- Use the code on the product's own small box. Pop Mart's portal says some codes cannot be verified and points you to that code. This probably means the doll's own box, not an outer carton. Pop Mart does not define it.
- An over-limit message is not a failure by itself. It means the code has been checked many times.
- Use the route for where you live, from the table above.
- If a QR code only opens Pop Mart's general home page, nothing has been checked.
- In the USA and Canada, contact customer service through Pop Mart's US Contact page.
If the result worries you
Keep a screenshot of the result and the first verification time, with the listing and the messages. Hide the digits when you share a screenshot, so no one can copy the code.
Use the return policy and buyer protection of the seller or the marketplace. Pop Mart's US and Canada help pages say products bought from its official website, official stores, ROBOSHOP machines and other authorized online platforms are guaranteed authentic and verifiable. Its US after-sales policy covers only its own online store, physical stores and robot stores.
To report a seller or a fake, use the table by country in our Lafufu guide.
Vereev cannot verify a Pop Mart code, because only Pop Mart can. Vereev can give an independent opinion on the doll. The code tells you nothing about the doll.
Common questions
What readers ask about this topic
Where is the QR code on a Labubu?
Pop Mart's example label, from a Baby Molly box, shows a holographic sticker with a QR code and a silver scratch panel on the box. Pop Mart also told ABC News that its 2024 releases have a QR code on the figure's tag. Pop Mart does not document where the sticker sits on a Labubu box.
How do I check a Labubu QR code?
In the US and Canada, scratch the silver panel, go to m-gss.popmart.com/us, choose QR Verify, then enter the code and press Verify. Elsewhere outside mainland China, Pop Mart says to scan the box code, which opens its check on m-gss.popmart.com. In mainland China, Pop Mart points buyers to its WeChat mini-program, POP MART Service Center.
Does a fake Labubu have a QR code?
Some do. UK OPSS described a fake with no QR code, CHOICE found one imitation code among five fakes, and Shanghai police described fake anti-counterfeit stickers. A QR code that scans is not proof.
What does First Time Verification mean?
It means Pop Mart's system recognizes the code and no one had checked it before. It says nothing about the doll in the box.
Why does my Labubu code say already queried or verified many times?
Someone checked the code before you, perhaps the seller or an earlier owner. Pop Mart's US help page still labels this result genuine. On a doll sold as new, a Pop Mart staff member told Yicai it is good reason to suspect a fake.
What does exceeded the limit mean on the Pop Mart check?
The code has been checked more times than the portal allows. Pop Mart's help page still calls that product genuine, while its portal warns you to watch for counterfeit goods. On a doll sold as new, treat it as a warning sign.
How many digits is a Pop Mart code?
Pop Mart does not publish one fixed length. One Pop Mart screenshot shows a 16-digit code where you enter the last four, and the portal also has a prompt for the last three digits.
Does a Labubu have a serial number?
No Pop Mart source read by 2 November 2026 describes one. Nothing from Pop Mart supports claims of serial plates, RFID, NFC or blockchain records. The box carries a scratch code, and a counterfeit can carry a batch number too.
Is m-gss.popmart.com a real Pop Mart site?
Yes, as checked on 2 November 2026. Pop Mart's own help pages send buyers there, and its check page loads q.popmart.com inside it. Type the address yourself rather than following a link from a seller.
Does a genuine code mean my Labubu is real?
No. Pop Mart's portal says its results are only a guide. ABC News reports real boxes resealed around fakes, and LegitApp says genuine QR labels are sold on secondary markets. Check the doll itself too.
