Pop Mart and Labubu Authentication
Labubu legit check by independent experts: send guided photos, get Authentic or Replica with a QR E-Result, or your tokens back if photos cannot decide.
Not sure your Labubu is real? Send photos for an independent opinion.
Direct answer
A Labubu legit check has three parts: the doll, its tags and box, and the code. Pop Mart's code check tells you whether its system recognizes the code on the box. It checks the code, so it cannot show the doll is genuine. For an independent opinion on the doll, send guided photos to Vereev. AI assists, human experts decide, and tokens are refunded if the photos cannot settle it.

How to approach Pop Mart and Labubu authentication
Name the series and design
Find the series on the box and the design name on the character card. Pop Mart says you learn which doll you have from that card or from a sealed bag. A correct name proves nothing alone, because fakes are sold under real series names.
Count teeth, fingers and toes
Pop Mart's own description of the doll gives nine teeth, two closely spaced ears, four fingers and three claw-shaped toes. Note any part that comes off easily. These checks can show strong warning signs, but they cannot prove a doll is real.
Read the tags, labels and sticker
Look at the hang tag, the wash label, any mark under the feet and the box sticker. Misspellings are a warning sign. In the UK, CTSI says the packaging should list a UK-based importer or manufacturer. Sources disagree on which foot carries a mark.
Take these photos
Photograph the doll from the front and back, the mouth, both soles, every tag on both sides and the box label, in daylight. Keep any revealed code digits out of the photos.
Photo guide
Photos to take of your Pop Mart and Labubu toy

Full Appearance
Capture the full collectible and packaging so shape, color, and condition are visible.
Detail
Show logos, marks, print quality, seams, paint, mold details, or material texture.
Extra Details
Include serials, accessories, certificate cards, barcode labels, or edition details.
Follow the same angles in the app
The Vereev app shows a sample photo for each angle when you submit a Pop Mart and Labubu toy. Sharp, same-item photos give the reviewer the evidence this page describes; packaging and documents help when you have them.

What to review on Pop Mart and Labubu items
How a Labubu legit check works at Vereev
You photograph the doll in the Vereev app, which guides you through each photo. If you already have a Vereev account and tokens, you can also order on the website at www.vereev-ai.com/authenticate. AI assists, and human experts decide.
The result is Authentic, Replica, or a statement that the photos cannot settle it. A reviewer may ask you for more photos first. If the photos cannot support a conclusion, your tokens are refunded. Authentic and Replica results come with a digital E-Result, a certificate and a QR link that anyone can check at www.vereev-ai.com/verify.
To order, search for Pop Mart in the app. If your version of the app does not list it yet, type the full name, Pop Mart, and continue. Requests use tokens, and the app shows the cost before you confirm.
Vereev is independent. It is not Pop Mart, and it does not issue Pop Mart certificates. A Vereev result is an expert opinion on the doll in your photos. Pop Mart's check is about the code, and a Vereev result is about the doll, so one does not replace the other.
What each Labubu check can and cannot prove
No single check settles it. A Labubu is mass produced. Pop Mart's US court complaint, filed in July 2025, says more than 4.8 million units of products with the Labubu design were sold in the US since the start of 2024. As of 2 November 2026, nothing from Pop Mart supports claims of a personal serial plate, RFID chip, NFC tag or blockchain record for a doll. So any opinion, from anyone, compares a doll with its documented design. It is not a lookup in a register.
Each kind of check answers a different question. The table shows what each one can tell you, and what it cannot.
| Check | What it can tell you | What it cannot tell you |
|---|---|---|
| Pop Mart's code check | Whether Pop Mart's system recognizes the code, and when it was first checked, as Pop Mart's own screenshots show | Whether the doll inside is genuine. Pop Mart's help page, FAQ and check portal do not cover teeth, feet, materials or copied labels, and the portal calls its results for reference only |
| Your own check of the doll | Strong warning signs, such as a wrong tooth count, named by the US CPSC and Australia's ACCC, or ears that are too wide, named by the ACCC | It cannot prove a doll is real. WTVD, an ABC-owned TV station in North Carolina, in a story also run by 6abc, reported a buyer whose two toys had nine teeth but no QR code on the tag, so the count alone did not settle it |
| Seller paperwork | A story you can test, such as where and when the doll was bought | Proof. Pop Mart's 2024 annual report says it found more than 10 forged authorization letters that year |
| Independent photo review | An expert opinion on the details your photos show | Chemicals, how firmly parts are attached, or whether Pop Mart's system accepts a code |
| Regulator or lab test | Measured facts about one product, such as DEHP by weight in an EU Safety Gate record, or parts that came off below the minimum force in UK OPSS reports | Who made the doll. A safety test does not authenticate a brand |
Photos to take of a Labubu
The Vereev photo guide for collectibles asks for three kinds of photo: the full item with its packaging, close-up details, and extra details such as cards and labels. Follow the checklist the app shows you. For a Labubu, the shots listed below help most. Use daylight and a plain background.
Each shot has a reason. Pop Mart's own court complaint describes the teeth, ears, hands and feet of a genuine doll. A report by the UK's Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS), number 2508-0112 of 1 October 2025, described one seized fake with a label reading Popmart as one word, no QR code on the product and no importer name and address. The US CPSC's warning of 18 August 2025 names a holographic Pop Mart sticker and, on newer editions, a mark on one foot.
Keep the scratch code private. Do not photograph the digits under the silver panel. If you have already scratched it, cover the digits, because a code that other people can read could be copied.
- Full appearance: the doll from the front and from the back, and the box or packaging.
- Detail: the mouth, so every tooth can be counted, then the eyes, the nose and the ears from the front.
- Detail: both hands, the underside of both feet with any mark, and close-ups of seams and paint.
- Extra details: the hang tag on both sides, the wash label, the character card and the inner bag.
- Extra details: the box label and the sticker, with any revealed digits covered.
Labubu, The Monsters and How2Work: which is which
Labubu is a character in The Monsters, created by the Hong Kong-born artist Kasing Lung. His website says Monsters figures were also released from How2Work, a Hong Kong company. A genuine How2Work figure is not a Pop Mart product, so do not judge it by Pop Mart's code check. Our buying guide explains the How2Work line.
Pop Mart also sells official crossovers. On 2 November 2026, its US store listed Monsters lines with Hello Kitty and Friends, FIFA, Kow Yokoyama Ma.k. and How to Train Your Dragon, plus a 10th Anniversary range. An unusual crossover is not fake by itself.
What a photo review cannot test
Photos show shape, print and marks. They cannot show what a doll is made of. EU Safety Gate alerts on Labubu lookalikes, most of them flagged counterfeit, include chemical alerts that mostly name the phthalates DEHP, DBP and DIBP. The UK's CTSI, the professional body for Trading Standards, said on 13 August 2025 that fakes may contain lead. That is a possibility, not a test result. Only a laboratory can measure chemicals.
Photos also cannot show how firmly the eyes, hands and feet are attached. UK OPSS reports record force tests for that. Photos cannot tell you whether a doll is safe for a child, or whether Pop Mart's system accepts a code. Only Pop Mart can answer the code question.
So an Authentic result is not a safety clearance. The eight Monsters product pages read on Pop Mart's US store on 2 November 2026 say they are not suitable for persons under 15. For safety findings, recalls and where to report a fake, see our Lafufu guide.
If it looks fake or you are not sure
Keep it away from young children. Australia's ACCC gives that advice when you are unsure (5 November 2025), and the UK Intellectual Property Office (IPO) said on 3 October 2025 not to give a fake toy to a child.
Use the seller's or the marketplace's return and buyer protection. Pop Mart's US after-sales policy covers only orders from its online store, physical stores and robot stores. For orders from third-party platforms or retail distributors, it sends you to the original seller or to its customer service. Keep the listing, the messages, the receipt and your photos.
To report a fake, use the table by country in our Lafufu guide. For a second opinion on the doll, send guided photos to Vereev.
Model-specific checks
Most-searched Pop Mart and Labubu models
Compare each piece with references for the same version, size, and period. These are the details a reviewer photographs and compares first.
Big into Energy
Pop Mart calls it the third generation of Labubu vinyl plush. A pendant blind box released in the US on 25 April 2025, with six designs and a secret called ID. EU record SR/00958/26 names a fake of this series.
Check and photograph
- Photograph the box and the character card or sealed inner bag that names the design.
- Photograph the mouth so every tooth can be counted.
- Photograph the underside of both feet.
- Photograph the hanging loop and any ring or clip attached to it.
Have a Seat
A vinyl plush blind box released in the US on 12 July 2024, with six designs and the secret Duoduo. Fakes appear in EU record SR/01632/26 and in UK OPSS report 2508-0112, which describes a fake seized from a retailer.
Check and photograph
- Photograph every tag and label so the Pop Mart spelling can be read.
- Photograph the importer name and address on the box or label.
- Photograph any QR code on the doll's tags and on the box.
- Photograph both hands and feet where they join the body.
Exciting Macaron
A vinyl face blind box released in the US on 27 October 2023, with six designs and the secret Chestnut Cocoa.
Check and photograph
- Photograph the vinyl face straight on, with the eyes, nose and teeth in sharp focus.
- Photograph both hands and feet so the fingers and toes can be counted.
- Photograph the character card or sealed inner bag that names the design.
- Photograph the back of the box and any holographic sticker on it.
Fall in Wild
A vinyl plush doll pendant sold on its own, not in a blind box, released in the US on 12 April 2024. A larger doll version is also sold.
Check and photograph
- Photograph the mouth so every tooth can be counted.
- Photograph the underside of both feet in sharp focus.
- Photograph the hang tag on both sides, including any QR code.
- Photograph the box label, including the product name, batch and importer details.
Large dolls: Let's Checkmate, Flip With Me and I Found You
Bigger dolls sold one at a time on Pop Mart's US store. Let's Checkmate measures 37 cm and was released in the US on 7 February 2025.
Check and photograph
- Photograph the face up close so the eyes, nose and every tooth are sharp.
- Photograph the underside of both feet.
- Photograph every tag and the wash label on both sides.
- Photograph the box label and any holographic sticker, with any revealed code digits covered.
Series released in 2026: Hello Kitty and Friends, Hair Salon and Cat Mode On
Pendant blind boxes released in the US on 12 March 2026, 25 June 2026 and 15 October 2026. No source read by 2 November 2026 says which marks these series carry.
Check and photograph
- Photograph the outer box and the character card or sealed inner bag.
- Photograph every tag, label and sticker on both sides.
- For Cat Mode On, also photograph the metal chain and the woven label.
Warning signs
When Pop Mart and Labubu items need a closer look
Each sign is a reason to ask more questions or get an item-level review. None is a verdict on its own.
- A wrong tooth count. A real Labubu has nine, say the US CPSC and Australia's ACCC. Copies can have nine too, so a right count proves nothing.
- Ears set too wide, named by the ACCC, or overly bright colors, named by the CPSC.
- Eyes, hands, feet or a keyring that come off easily, as UK OPSS reports and EU Safety Gate records describe on fakes.
- Spelling mistakes on labels, such as pap mort for POP MART on fakes seized by French customs. UK OPSS report 2508-0112 also cited a label reading Popmart as one word on one seized fake. Pop Mart's own check screen writes POPMART, so judge the whole label, not one word.
- No QR code and no importer name and address on a recent release, as on the fake in OPSS report 2508-0112.
- A deep discount, which the CPSC lists as a sign. Or a sales pitch of "1:1 replica" or "scan to verify", phrases that Xinhua Daily Telegraph says live-stream sellers used to push fakes.
- A doll sold as new whose code was already checked. A Pop Mart staff member told Yicai this gives good reason to suspect a fake.

Pop Mart and Labubu authentication FAQ
Can Vereev tell me if my Labubu is real?
Vereev gives an independent expert opinion from guided photos: Authentic, Replica, or a statement that the photos cannot settle it. AI assists and human experts decide. The opinion covers the doll in your photos. It cannot test chemicals or check a Pop Mart code.
Does Pop Mart have its own Labubu authentication service?
Pop Mart offers a code check, not a check of the doll. You scratch the code on the box and enter it on Pop Mart's site. Its help page, FAQ and portal do not describe checking teeth, feet or materials, and the portal says results are for reference only. In the USA and Canada, its Contact page also lists an Infringement Report and Authorization Verification channel.
Is a Vereev result the same as Pop Mart's code check?
No. Pop Mart's check tells you about the code on the box. A Vereev result is an independent opinion on the doll in your photos. Only Pop Mart can confirm a Pop Mart code, and the code tells you nothing about the doll.
What happens if my photos cannot settle it?
A reviewer may first ask for more photos. If the photos still cannot support a conclusion, the result says so and your tokens are refunded.
Do I need the box to get a Labubu checked?
The Vereev photo guide for collectibles asks for the item with its packaging, so include the box, tags and card if you have them. If you no longer have the box, photograph the doll and its tags in full. A box alone proves little, because ABC News reports real boxes resealed around fakes.
Can a photo check tell me if a Labubu is safe for a child?
No. Photos cannot show chemicals or how firmly parts are attached, so an Authentic result is not a safety clearance. The eight Monsters product pages read on Pop Mart's US store on 2 November 2026 say they are not suitable for persons under 15.
Can I verify a Labubu in the Pop Mart app?
The steps on Pop Mart's US and Canada help page use its website, m-gss.popmart.com/us. In mainland China, Pop Mart points buyers to its WeChat mini-program, POP MART Service Center. Either way the check covers the code, not the doll, and our Pop Mart QR code guide explains each route.
Is Vereev part of Pop Mart?
No. Vereev is independent. It is not Pop Mart, and it does not issue Pop Mart certificates. Only Pop Mart can confirm a Pop Mart code.

Codes and tags are context, not verdicts
Pop Mart's US help page says products bought from its official website, official stores, ROBOSHOP machines and other authorized online platforms are guaranteed authentic and verifiable.
